VIRTUAL: Planet 9 - Planetarium Show

VIRTUAL: Planet 9 - Planetarium Show

Five years ago, astronomers Mike Brown and Konstantin Batygin announced evidence for large, ninth planet in the distant outer solar system. Astronomers have been on the hunt for “Planet 9” ever since.  We’ll talk Drs. Brown and Batygin to find out why they are more convinced than ever that Planet 9 exists, and their efforts to find it.

Mike Brown is the Richard and Barbara Rosenberg Professor of Planetary Astronomy in the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at Caltech.  He is the author of the book How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming.

Konstantin Batygin is a Professor of Planetary Science in the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at Caltech.  His research interests lie in the field of planetary astrophysics.  In particular, the formation and evolution of the solar system, dynamical evolution of exoplanets, as well as physical processes that occur in planetary interiors and atmospheres.
