Events at Towson University

TU Teacher Scholars Summer Institute

Eleventh-grade students in Baltimore County Public Schools are invited to apply to the College of Education's four-day, on-campus session to experience TU's resources and learn about careers in teaching.

 

Presented in collaboration with BCPS, the 2019 TU Teacher Scholars Summer Institute will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18. The final day of the program includes an evening showcase of student work. Students and families will also discuss planning and budgeting for college and career opportunities with Baltimore County Public Schools. All activities take place on Towson University's campus.

 

Quailified applicants who are selected for the program will enjoy the benefits below.

  • High school/university credit for completing the course, Exploring Careers in Education
  • Campus tours of Cook Library, the Watson-King Planetarium, Center for the Arts, and other student facilities
  • Guided observations of undergraduate classes
  • Mentorship from a Towson University student during the regular school year
  • BCPS-provided transportation

Students must complete an application and be accepted in order to attend.
