The School of Emerging Technologies Health Informatics Special Interest Group, in association with the Towson Research Academy of Collaborative Sport Science (TRACS) is pleased to announce TU CODES: the Mobile Application Development Competition aimed at promoting student experiential learning across the TU campus.

The Competition is open to all undergraduate/graduate students across TU

Students MUST attend the information luncheon on February 13, 2019 at 12:00 noon to enter as a team  and meet the judging panel

The teams will have 10 weeks to design a technology solution and pitch their application as a live demonstration on the competition day on May 3, 2019

PROBLEM  DEFINITION:

TRACS was founded in 2014 to provide state of the art clinical testing of Towson University student athletes with the aim of preventing injuries and optimizing sports performance. Since its inception, TRACS has accumulated an abundance of athlete data that is currently housed on many platforms. The focus of the competition is to develop solutions to seamlessly integrate these data into a usable format and construct an iOS application that would provide student athletes with reliable and synchronized data that they may share with coaches, athletic trainers and sports medicine personnel to help guide their strength and conditioning programs. Some of expected application-specific functional requirements for the application include: Periodic Survey Assessments,  Customizable server-client dashboard,  Report generation and Clinical data analytics of the provided data. Each team will be designing and implementing a mobile iOS application as a solution DASHBOARD available with comprehensive server-client functionalities, including interactivity, usability, security and necessary operational details.  Additional information and data format details will be provided to all participating team members during the Kick Off Meeting in February.

AWARDS:

Up to $1,250 monetary awards to the top two winning teams.

Opportunity as a summer student hire for continuation of the designed application.
