Benjamin Banneker was born in Ellicott City and lived from 1731-1806.  He was raised on a tobacco farm and attended school but was largely self-taught in the sciences.  During his life he made valuable contributions as an astronomer, mathematician, surveyor, almanac author and a farmer.   Benjamin Banneker will be on hand at Saturday Science to discuss his life and science during this “living history” presentation.
