Abstract:     Often in model theory one can deduce strong properties of the algebraic structure of an object from weak assumptions about its logical structure. Marker, Macphearson and Steinhorn showed in the 90's that weak o-minimality of a field implies the field is real closed. We show that this holds for the much weaker notion of local convex orderability.
