Benjamin is a Bombay-born painter whose work reflects her background as a Bene Israel Jew in a predominantly Hindu and Muslim India. She combines the imagery of her past with her role in America today, making a mosaic inspired by Indian miniature paintings, transcultural myth, and iconography. Her first MFA is in painting and her second in theater set design. A 2011 and 2016-17 Fulbright Fellow, she has exhibited in the US, Europe, and Asia.
