Burko’s practice is at the intersection of art, science, and the environment. It is fueled by the urgency of climate change, but endeavors to remind us of the magic of the natural world. Burko has shown her work in dozens of national and international exhibitions. She holds an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and is Professor Emerita at Community College of Philadelphia. Burko's current five year NSF Grant is with ARION (Arctic Radium Isotope Observing Network) at Rowan University.
