Sonnenberg is a sculptor and multimedia artist who works extensively in clay, using time‐intensive construction methods to create totems and environments that reference the cyclical nature of growth and decay, and suggest layers of time beyond the art historical and into the geological and emotional. His works range widely from porcelain to performance. He has had several prestigious artist residencies and has shown his work nationally. He received an MFA in sculpture from the University of Washington.
