Three gods come to earth in search of one good person. They finally discover Shen Te, a prostitute with a heart of gold, and give her money so that she might take on a more respectable profession. However, corrupt neighbors take advantage of her and constantly undermine her plans. The situation is alleviated by the arrival of Shen Te’s hardnosed alter ego, Shui Ta. Professor Stephen Nunns directs students in this famous parable of good and evil, one of Brecht’s most produced plays.
