DESCRIPTION:Join the TU Writing Center as we welcome Dr. Jennifer Sano-Fran
 chini to campus for a conversation about GenAI and student writing! Dr. Sa
 no-Franchini is the Gaziano Family Legacy Professor and an associate profe
 ssor of English at West Virginia University. Her research and teaching int
 erests are in the cultural politics of design\, Asian American rhetoric\, 
 and technical communication. She currently serves as Immediate Past Chair 
 of the Conference on College Composition and Communication.\n\n \n\nThis w
 orkshop session will discuss approaches for engaging the issue of generati
 ve AI in the college writing classroom in ways that foreground student lea
 rning\, student agency\, and meeting students where they are. We will also
  discuss strategies for motivating student writers at a time when generati
 ve AI platforms are seemingly free\, purportedly efficient\, and always av
