On View October 21 - December 10 (closed November 22 - 27)
Calkins examines how we curate and fluidly present versions of our identity. Using the self-portrait, he considers how we see ourselves, are seen by others, think we are being seen, and want to be seen, and questions how these desires and perceptions of Self change due to forces such as illness, pain, the pandemic, and love. Finally, Calkins asks us to examine how we use our created identities to control social situations, isolate, and experience relationships -- what do we chose to reveal.
