CIS Cybersecurity Seminar: Nathan Koterba

Nathan Koterba and his colleagues from Blackpoint Cyber will be presenting several topics and demonstrations for students to learn more about practical cybersecurity skills. 

Students from all majors are welcome.


Topics:  + Social Engineering: Be Careful What You Post.

               + Lateral Spread: Why it's so critical to a successful hack.

               + A live-hacking demo using real-world techniques.


Speakers: Nathan Koterba, Xavier Salinas, Nicole LaDue


Nathan Koterba is the Vice President of Product Management at Blackpoint Cyber.  He currently oversees customer engagement, feature development, and other activities related to Blackpoint’s SNAP-Defense cyber security platform. Previously, Nathan worked as full-stack software engineer developing real-world mobile and monitoring applications.


Xavier Salinas leads Threat Operations at Blackpoint Cyber. Xavier has a decade of experience in Security and IT Operations focusing on securing OT/IoT networks, embedded systems, and endpoints. Prior to joining Blackpoint Cyber, Xavier worked at Tenable Network Security and Schneider Electric.


Nicole LaDue is the Marketing & Design Lead at Blackpoint Cyber. Nicole has a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Towson University, and before coming to Blackpoint Cyber she was the lead graphic designer for The Bob Lucido Team of Keller Williams Select Realtors; helping to facilitate the company’s rise to being the #1 Keller Williams Team in the World.


Pizza will be served at 5:30 pm; the talk will begin at 6:00 pm.
