Asia North: Making Stories with Where We're From

Utilize your own memories, experiences, and knowledge to build your visual and written storytelling skills and learn to craft compelling narratives! As the creative landscape demonstrates its increased need and interest in diverse voices, crafting worlds and stories informed by our rich and unique cultural experiences is a must-have skill. Explore research techniques, drawing tricks, and creative writing decisions that will let your unique vision shine! Led by artist, Margaret Huey. 

Recommended Materials: 
The sky’s the limit for this workshop, which is open to any mediums and methods. 
- easy access to a search engine
- note-taking materials for cataloguing verbal ideas
- pencil and paper for cataloguing visual ideas, hi-liters, a means of collecting images (e.g. a Pinterest mood board, storage on a personal device, or a Smithsonian Learning Lab account)
- drawing tools,( e.g. graphite, colored pencils, etc.)
