Artist Statements:

My name is Aliya Tungekar and I am a self-taught artist.

For me, art is more than an expression — it is an act of worship, reflection, and connection. Each creation carries an intention: to honor faith, to preserve tradition, and to introduce innovation. My goal is to make Islamic art accessible, meaningful, and lasting, while ensuring it resonates deeply with both the heart and the eye.

My name is Abdul Munim. I am a physician. I have a lifelong interest in Arabic calligraphy and wood carving.
I learned a lot from Chip carver, Wayne Barton's books and video tutorials and applied his techniques and motifs to the masterpieces of Arabic calligraphy.

This exhibit will run through 4/29/2026
