PASTICCIO FURIOSO – A NIGHT AT THE BAROQUE OPERA

The Department of Music presents Pastichio Furioso produced by Music for the Stage under the direction of Prof. Phillip Collister, the Early Music Ensemble under the direction of Prof. Marc Bellassai and in collaboration with students from the Department of Electronic Media and Film. This innovative “pastiche opera” based upon the famous epic poem Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto, created by Phillip Collister, will include selections from numerous Baroque operas by Handel, Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Purcell, Rameau and others and will be performed fully staged with period performance practice (A415) and projected scenic and dramaturgical elements.
