A Lecture and Q&A with Prof. Bryan Caplan of George Mason University
Should the unaccompanied minors trying to cross the U.S.’s southern border be sent back from where they came? Or admitted? Should the U.S. Congress pass comprehensive immigration reform? Or should our first priority be to “secure the border”? Do immigrants come here to mooch off our welfare system or to work and increase our national output? Or both?
These important questions cannot be intelligently answered without an understanding of the practical economic consequences of immigration. This event aims to advance the TU community’s understanding of the economic and social consequences of immigration, and the policy options available. Come with an open mind and thought-provoking questions.
